ABOUT KIM
I first entered a dance studio at the age of 6 and have been addicted ever since. My early training began in Gainesville, Florida at the Joni Messler Studio of Dance. After attending my first summer program at Burklyn Ballet Theatre School in Vermont, I knew that I was destined for a career as a dancer. The following summer I attended the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School and loved it so much that I decided to study year-round. While under Patricia Wilde and David Holladay's direction, I performed with the professional company in George Balanchine's Western Symphony and The Nutcracker. I later attended Boston Ballet, Contemporary Ballet Theatre and Joffrey Ballet School's summer programs furthering my study in ballet, jazz, tap, character and modern dance. After accepting Edith D'Addario's invitation to remain as a full scholarship trainee at the Joffrey Ballet School, I took approximately 17 classes a week and assisted Dorothy Lister in the children's program. After a short time training in college with Dance Theatre of Santa Fe, I joined the Georgia Ballet where I performed for seven seasons. I recently became an ABT Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT National Training Curriculum. I am currently studying to be a Physical Therapy Assistant at Chattahoochee Tech and train in all dance styles throughout metro Atlanta as well as choreograph, teach, dance and raise my two beautiful children.
